What is Friends of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (FoNIBIB)?

FoNIBIB is a coalition of organizations dedicated to supporting the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB).

NIBIB is one of 27 Institutes and Centers that make up the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIBIB’s mission is to transform, through technology development, our understanding of disease and its prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment.

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) launched FoNIBIB with the objective of advocating for NIBIB initiatives that shape public health and research policies. FoNIBIB’s objectives are to increase public awareness and support for NIBIB’s scientific goals, research advances, and commitment to training the next generation of interdisciplinary researchers.
